Important Notifications For GATE 2013
1. Admit Card Download : Candidates can download the admit card from the GATE Online Applicant Interface from 5 pm on 10 December 2012 (and not on 5 December 2012, as announced earlier). Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.
2. Change of Exam City: The deadline for city change requests is now passed and no further requests for a change will be entertained.
3. Applicants, who have posted their application (hardcopy) along with the necessary documents before the due date (8 October 2012), are advised to check their application status online and with India Post Website. In case of any discrepancy, they must contact the corresponding Zonal GATE office immediately, along with the documentary proof of posting the application before the due date.
What’s New in GATE 2013 ?
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in Engineering and Technology. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven IITs (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The GATE score of a candidate reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. The score is used for admissions to various post-graduate programmes (eg. M.E., M.Tech, direct Ph.D.) in Indian higher education institutes with financial assistance provided by MHRD and other Government agencies.
